Colleagues are friendly, but poor management causes stress and bad work-life balance.
The good thingsThe colleagues are friendly, supportive, and easy to work with. They create a positive atmosphere and make the daily work experience more enjoyable despite the challenges from management. Having a good team can make tasks more manageable and foster collaboration.
The challengesManagement is poor and often creates a stressful work environment. Staff are frequently given unreasonable workloads that are difficult to complete within the time frame. The boss tends to consider herself always right and perfect, often dismissing the efforts of others and making it hard for employees to feel their work is valued. Instructions are often mixed, redundant, and constantly changing, which can lead to confusion and mistakes. If tasks are not carefully noted, employees risk being blamed for errors. Work-life balance is difficult to maintain because of excessive demands, frequent last-minute changes, and unclear priorities.

The management seemed very chaotic and inexperienced. Management also does not communicate expectations and SOP as well as they should. Which is a major problem when you are dealing with part time lecturers as we have actual full time jobs.
The good thingsNot much. The campus looks fancy.
The challengesWhen came in as a part time lecturer there wasn't much in terms of briefing and expectation setting. I wasn't even informed when my fee will be paid. After a few months sudden documentation and SOP was set to me without prior notice. They were also given with a short deadline. Suddenly they started slowing down payment and eventually refuse to make my final month payment after I hand in my resignation even when I followed the procedure in my contract. Until now over a year later I have not receive my payment for the final month I was teaching as a part timer there.

If you are passionate about working for a university that relies on AI for most of their work and restrict their students' freedom of expression, UNITAR is just the right place for you.
The good thingsBenefits of parking, medical insurance and steady salary every month. Events at the company and team building were also perks.
The challengesThe work environment where you cannot have privacy and sometimes you need to work off the work hours. In terms of relationship with staff, you will be excluded if you don't act like your own race and religion. If you wear something against the code of conduct, you will be reported. Those who have the company's favour will have better chance. Also, with the rise of AI, most of the notes for external students were prompts and very messy. No matter what prompts your superior demands of you to do, results will be sloppy. Unrealistic deadlines, where if you have CHATGPT, they expect you to produce more within a day instead of a week.

    There're pros and cons
The good thingsGreat environment Friendly staff and colleagues Good location and good benefit for loans since it is a higher education body
The challengesToo much internal politics Uncertain of the focus path in determining business model, hence make it hard to develop a system. Slow career path opportunity in IT
