    Promising university bogged down by incompetent management.
    The good thingsGood employee benefits. Modern facilities.
    The challengesWeak leadership. Doesn't have a clear direction on what it wants to be. Trying to be too many things at one time. Poor manpower planning. Departments are either understaffed and expected to multi-task, or full of staff with very narrow job scope. Career development is basically non-existent due to the combination of its nature of business and promoting the wrong people into important positions.

    Academic department needs improvement
    The good thingsGood benefit Good working area, no traffic There is always activities for employees.
    The challengesManagement need to work together to solve the mess it is in now. Due to cost-optimization, it has been stressful over there. Systems (UCampus) need to be improved or changed because of constant error every semester. HIgher ups need to listen to staff a bit more on recommendations especially regarding getting more students. Too much stage for approval for projects.

    UTP the best place to find experience
    The good thingsI was doing finance matter in previous company which involve mundane works related to numbers. However, UTP managed to expose me with different side of finance with the fundraising works here. Its challenging and inspiring effort to raise fund for the needy students.

    The challengesDelay in issuing purchase orders and late delivery order by appointed contractors. Delay in completing a research activities or projects due to lab equipment breakdowns. Lab facility very hi-tech and difficult to order spare parts locally, and costly.
