My experienceThe good thingsIt was the learning. I was lucky my superior empowered me. I had the initiative to absorb as much as I could and climb up. By my 5th year, I was already managing my own work and department. I also learned to coordinate my work with other departments. So for me it was the learning.
The challengesPeople development was lacking. The company doesn't invest in building its people through IT infrastructure, trainings, or short-courses. This also stemmed from management's fear that if staff know too much, they'll get smarter and make demands. It's archaic thinking caused it to lose many good and able staff.
