The good thingsHybrid only after confirmation thats all
The challengesNo hybrid during confirmation so may chances to extend the confirmation and wfo too. Too many entities. Next the management is so strict even small small things also need to inform in groups.

A good place to start your career and gain foundational experience, especially if you are looking to build technical skills early on. However, there is little incentive to stay long-term, as the work is highly repetitive with limited variety or challenge. Deadlines are consistently tight, creating a high-pressure environment, and support from team lead/managers is often minimal. Career progression opportunities are limited, with few clear development paths or upskilling initiatives. Over time, this can lead to stagnation and burnout, particularly for those seeking growth, recognition, or a better work-life balance.
The good thingsPositive work environment and culture. Flexible working hours. Option to work from home. Supportive team and colleagues.
The challengesPoor work-life balance — unable to claim overtime if working from home. Need to manage too many entities (company codes). Some managers appear indifferent, offering little to no help and only taking action after one-on-one discussions—often only when employees resign. Office politics are present, with conflicts of interest between managers and upper management. Remuneration is basic, with no additional perks. Limited opportunity to take leave due to continuous month-end closing (varies depending on portfolio). Lack of career progression and limited growth opportunities unless employees resign and positions open up. No overtime allowance for salaries above RM4,000. Excessive volume of email correspondence to monitor during monthly closing—potentially 40–90 emails in a single day if you are on leave and not checking your laptop.

    Inconsistent Practices
The good thingsApart from being able to work from home? Nothing else to be honest.
The challengesCompany values are plastered nicely all over the walls. But when it comes down to it, upper management just make up their own rules and do as they please.

Good working environment but poor leadership
The good thingsFlexible(hybrid) working environment, colleagues are friendly but not all so friendly.
The challengesLack of career growth, lack of leadership, very low salary and benefits package compare to other MNC, some toxic colleagues, lack of diversity and inclusion.

Low salary package, Useless Stress & No support from HOD
The good thingsTeam member are supportive in helping each other, perks of flexi working hours though unable to enjoy due to high workload.
The challengesPointing fingers culture especially from Technical department. Salary package is lower than the market rate while the top management is exploiting the economic downturn event. Every second is stressful due to high commitment but low/no encouragement are provided from the top management. Low motivation to work with ridiculous commitment from Vessel Manager as they are giving no comment sense of instruction which sometimes you will wonder whether do they have logic thinking and common sense. Basic remuneration and benefit package that you will surprise and would not expect that can from an MNC company

    Overtime working environment
The good thingsNice working environment, shorter and flexi working hours. Good working relationship with local colleagues. Recommended for fresh graduates, you can learn so much things!
The challengesTight deadlines, you cannot enjoy shorter and flexi working hours as your KPI are based on your tasks and adhering the deadlines given. No work life balance and stress as you need to work overtime to make sure you meet the deadlines. Each of staff need to make sure their deadlines are met thus if you take 5 days of AL be prepared to do these 5 days works after you finished your holidays as no one will do that for you unless there are urgent things!

Little Promotion opportunity. Always OT during out of office hours but not claimable. Monotonous and heavy stress workload.

The good thingsgood environment, friendly staff. a good role model from the manager. improve more on soft skills and also get many new experiences such as when to ship port and getting on the ship to observe more detail about what the company is all about.

    Great Experience
The good thingsProper, organize and systematic company. 17AL. Good bonus (if you meet KPI). Very good for career development. After 2 years can claim laptop. Refreshment provided in pantry for daily use. Good facilities. Flexi hours. Working hour shorter than other company. Training provided. Provide meal/transport allowance for OT. Medical coverage.
The challengesYou need to be independent, love to work and proactive. At first you will feel overload with works, but sooner or later it became routine and can catch up. Team will be the biggest challenge if they don't have passion to work and cooperation. Most problems came from unsupportive colleagues. Low increment compare to other company.

I AM A VERY DEMOTIVATED STAFF
The good thingsFlexible and short working hours. Get to know people overseas. Easy to be promoted as it is easy to outperform the existing people here in the department.
The challengesUnrealistic individual performance goals. Standardized goals for everyone in the department, but job scope and workload are totally different. Bad recruiting practice. Management hire staffs that are not up to expectation, not job fit. Management totally relay on team leaders to groom and 'take care' of these staffs. This is a burden to the team leaders and leads to not performing team. The department is full of people with no passion and love for job, the ones who are able to perform will not stay long as this is a very demotivating environment. Training given are usually in-house, no budget for training from external parties. Certain managers practice favoritism in the department. Most importantly, salary lower than market rate.

    Very Interesting Industry
The good thingsGood Location, Office Environment, furniture and facilities are up to date and well maintain. Overall employee's welfare is above average if comparing with any local company, including flexible working hour. Colleagues are helpful and friendly. It is a Multinational company with many expatriate from different country. You will able to learn different culture apart from work.
The challengesMost of the staffs are overloaded with too many tasks and datelines. One major challenge is Vessel schedule and Owner decision keep changing, and required to act fast with minimum time frame and cost to fulfill client's requirement and dateline. Not to mention if you have a Dominant boss.

    Good Environement
The good thingsMost of the senior are all well knowledge and experience people working in this company. Even was in very different department and big numbers of employee, they are very helpful and supportive. The culture in this company was very positive and they are not bias and underestimate you, and differ you with your position. Even the president of the company may able to speak with you as a friend.
The challengesIt is a worldwide branches, and as shipmanagement company it was sometime required to be on call 24hours. Urgent items are required without notice, but with proper system, devices and SOP, the challenges are able to taken in a good way.

A good place to start your career.
The good thingsI enjoy the company of others and the facilities provided. Access cards and free drinks and biscuits. The seniors will always be there to help when you are at loss. So, i did not have to be scared if I have questions. They train you well and quick when it comes to understanding the company's system.
The challengesI would recommend to lighten the job description to some employees. Because I understand they are handling too much than they actually can. It will help to them be more coordinated than stressed.
