What's it like to be a Physiotherapist?
Physiotherapists are trained to help patients restore mobility in their body. This could be due to surgery, accidents or disease. These trained medical professionals spend years learning how to manage pain, improve balance, enhance mobility and regain use of motor functions. The programs they develop help rehabilitate the body through the use of special exercises and tools, as well as other various methods to target a specific function or body part and bring it back to full use. They usually work in hospitals and rehabilitation centres or work in a private practice.Tasks and duties
- Assessing a patient's condition or mobility issues.
- Developing treatment programs to restore natural movement.
- Customising training programs to manage body pain or improve mobility.
- Providing physical care for post-surgery patients that may need rehabilitation of physical movement.
