C&W is a top tier company but with a letdown clientThe good thingsI would rate Cushman & Wakefield a perfect 10 for their benefits and company culture. In the first year alone, they offer 16 days of annual leave and 2 days of family leave, totaling 18 days off. The HR team is fantastic and my colleagues from different states are wonderful to work with. The company also shows appreciation by giving out vouchers on Women's Day and during the COVID-19 pandemic, they prioritized employees' mental health. They even provided RM150 to purchase ergonomic chairs. I'm truly grateful. It's an excellent company with very supportive culture.
The challengesI would say the biggest challenge was dealing with the client. I was based at a site where the client was extremely difficult to work with and there was no HR on site. Though I was hired for Penang, I ended up assisting KL, Vietnam, Philippines and JB as well. I didn't mind, as I saw it as an opportunity for learning and career growth. However, the client took advantage of this by piling on an unreasonable amount of tasks. They asked me to support finance, HR, IT and Marcom by handling staff onboarding and exit interviews, reformatting laptops, processing claims and doing monthly reports for accounts. To top it off, they even used their China Marcom VP to pressure me into doing Marcom work for them. The client manager even called on Sun 8am to open the door so they could borrow trolley as their sibling is house moving. When I didn’t comply, they went to the site, triggered the alarm to forced me to come disarm and open the door. It's really important to consider the client’s background
