Hiring of inexperienced and unqualified employees only causes the company to fall further behind.
    The good thingsFriendly colleagues.
The challengesPoor management in the company. There are no opportunities for career progression. Management tends to hire employees with no opinions of their own, and they lack professional knowledge themselves. They refuse to hire truly qualified people because they are afraid those employees might surpass them or difficult to control. The HR is the worst I have ever encountered. She lacks proper knowledge of HR practices, and as the first point of contact for candidates, her unprofessional attitude seriously damages the company’s image. She has no independent judgment and simply follows whatever instructions management gives. She also fails to provide proper orientation for new employees, and even after resignation, there is no proper exit process. She behaves as if managing a household rather than fulfilling the responsibilities expected of an HR. During company activities, she does not accept employees’ suggestions and only does what is easy for her, showing little effort or creativity.

A great place to gain confidence in my work and grow as a branding and marketing person
The good thingsThe staff and management here are extremely knowledgeable, and very friendly. Along with good benefits and good leadership, I'd say this is a really good place if you're looking to start afresh or to find somewhere with stability, I really recommend this company tbh.
The challengesLocation is kind of hard to get to - esp if ure scared of big lorries!

Once a good company, Cranberry has become plagued by poor leadership, lack of professionalism, and a toxic culture.
The good thingsA company with international exposure, good boss, good colleagues.
The challengesIndecisive Senior Management: After the company restructuring, it has been left in the hands of an untrained and unskilled senior management team. Their indecisiveness results in poor decision-making, led by an autocratic head who makes emotional, short-term decisions with a guilt-tripping approach, pushing employees to "appreciate" what little the company offers. Poor HR Practices: HR exists solely to serve senior management, acting as a puppet rather than advocating for employees. HR’s unprofessionalism is evident, particularly when employees leave the company—they aren’t even given proper entry or exit interviews. This lack of professionalism in handling employees is shocking. Limited Career Growth Opportunities: Many employees are stuck for years without promotions, skill development, or meaningful performance reviews. Even when promotions do occur, they are just titles with little increase in responsibility, empowerment, or salary. Inconsistent Standards: Management frequently compares the company to smaller, less reputable businesses to justify low salaries and lack of benefits, yet they expect employees to perform at the level of world-class companies. The hypocrisy is infuriating. Standards vary between employees, and there’s a culture of keeping things hush-hush to prevent transparency. Localized Favoritism: Despite branding itself as an international company, the work culture is highly localized. Meetings are often conducted in languages not understood by all employees, blatantly excluding those outside the majority race. The lack of inclusivity is disturbing. Manipulative Management: To top it off, management goes as far as fabricating positive reviews online to improve the company’s reputation on platforms like JobStreet. This dishonest manipulation reflects the company’s lack of integrity and their desperation to cover up internal issues. Cranberry used to be a decent company, but the restructuring has put it in the hands of an untrained and unprofessional senior management team. Working here feels like walking on eggshells, where going against management will result in personal vendettas. Causes many long served employees to leave and current employees to stay with silence by ensuring they do not challenge the management team directly.

Toxic management ruins the whole company growth. They tampered the truth to mask the reality. Not worth staying in a long time.
The good thingsColleagues are friendly and supportive.
The challenges 1) The company's senior management team require to set the tone for the rest of the employees. When management has a bad attitude or they don't seem to be honest in their dealings with employees, that creates toxicity, and nobody wants to work in a toxic environment. 2) Senior management was consistently unprofessional and disorganised. There will be little to no communication about important changes which will leave employees feeling lost. Additionally when issues arose, the so-called management team would often shift the blame instead of addressing problems constructively. 3) Management watches every move we make, checking in constantly and often second-guessing decisions. Instead of empowering, they create a suffocating environment where creativity and initiative are stifled. 4) Favoritism is rampant, certain employees receives all the attention and opportunities simply because of their personal relationships with management while others are overlooked regardless of their hardwork.

The company might not be perfect, but with the great benefits, no overtime culture, no micromanagement, and supportive management and colleagues, I really can’t ask for more!
The good thingsThe office hours are pretty flexible—I can start as early as 7:30am and leave right at 4:30pm. There’s no overtime culture here, my boss rarely asks me to finish anything after hours or on weekends. Once you become a confirmed employee, you can enjoy a set number of WFH days without needing approval! Each department gets a monthly budget for gatherings and snacks — I love shopping with my colleagues to choose our favorite treats and drinks. We also receive medical and well-being benefits. Company also celebrates important festivals like CNY, Hari Raya, Deepavali etc with meals and some fun activities. The company hosts team-building events every year, budget also allocated for employee training and if there’s some extra budget, we might even get a trip overseas!
The challengesThe management really knows the business inside and out. If you’re just treating the job like a clock-in, clock-out gig or believe you can outsmart them, you will find yourself very hard to impress them. But the good thing is, they are always approachable and willing to engage in conversation. The discussions may occasionally be long-winded, but they definitely offer some valuable insights and solutions!

A Company with Potential Ruined by Toxic Management
The good things* Some colleagues are friendly, supportive, and helpful. * The owner has previously been generous with bonuses, though the company is now mainly managed by toxic senior management team. * Some attractive benefits are provided.
The challenges1. Toxic Senior Management: The company is primarily run by a toxic senior management team that prioritizes personal interests over the organization’s well-being. Some members create politics among staff, focusing on self-interest and engaging in power struggles with one another. 2. Lack of Direction and Vision: There is no clear company strategy or vision, resulting in confusion and disorganization at all levels. 3. Poor HR Practices: HR lacks independence and only follows instructions from senior management, failing to advocate for employee needs. 4. Limited Career Growth Opportunities: The flat organizational structure prevents peak performers from being promoted, as senior management does not support employee growth to avoid being overtaken. Opportunities are often given only to those who align with management's views. 5. Unfair Compensation: Despite hard work and good performance, salary ranges are low, and raises are not reflective of contributions. 6. Inconsistent Standards: Management compares the company to lower-tier organizations when discussing salary and benefits but expects employees to perform at a higher standard. 7. Cross-Departmental Workload: Employees are frequently required to take on additional responsibilities outside their roles without proper compensation or recognition. 8. Internal Politics: Favoritism is prevalent, with top management focusing on favored staff and engaging in internal conflicts, detracting from overall productivity and morale.
