Once a good company, Cranberry has become plagued by poor leadership, lack of professionalism, and a toxic culture. The good thingsA company with international exposure, good boss, good colleagues.
The challengesIndecisive Senior Management: After the company restructuring, it has been left in the hands of an untrained and unskilled senior management team. Their indecisiveness results in poor decision-making, led by an autocratic head who makes emotional, short-term decisions with a guilt-tripping approach, pushing employees to "appreciate" what little the company offers.
Poor HR Practices: HR exists solely to serve senior management, acting as a puppet rather than advocating for employees. HR’s unprofessionalism is evident, particularly when employees leave the company—they aren’t even given proper entry or exit interviews. This lack of professionalism in handling employees is shocking.
Limited Career Growth Opportunities: Many employees are stuck for years without promotions, skill development, or meaningful performance reviews. Even when promotions do occur, they are just titles with little increase in responsibility, empowerment, or salary.
Inconsistent Standards: Management frequently compares the company to smaller, less reputable businesses to justify low salaries and lack of benefits, yet they expect employees to perform at the level of world-class companies. The hypocrisy is infuriating. Standards vary between employees, and there’s a culture of keeping things hush-hush to prevent transparency.
Localized Favoritism: Despite branding itself as an international company, the work culture is highly localized. Meetings are often conducted in languages not understood by all employees, blatantly excluding those outside the majority race. The lack of inclusivity is disturbing.
Manipulative Management: To top it off, management goes as far as fabricating positive reviews online to improve the company’s reputation on platforms like JobStreet. This dishonest manipulation reflects the company’s lack of integrity and their desperation to cover up internal issues.
Cranberry used to be a decent company, but the restructuring has put it in the hands of an untrained and unprofessional senior management team. Working here feels like walking on eggshells, where going against management will result in personal vendettas. Causes many long served employees to leave and current employees to stay with silence by ensuring they do not challenge the management team directly.
