It was established in 1844 under the name of Harrison and Crossfield.The company was renamed Golden Hope Plantations Berhad in 1990 to reflect change in management when Permodalan Nasional Berhad acquired its majority equity.Golden Hope is now one of Bursa Malaysia’s top 30 companies in terms of market capitalisation and has 26,000 employees.It is the first Malaysian public-listed plantation group with downstream refineries and activities in oils and fats industry in Europe and South Africa. It is a strong environmental advocate with global awards including the Forest Stewardship Council Certification (FSC), ISO 14001, ISO 9000, ISO 9001 and COC.
