Lots to learn, but don't stay too long. The good things1. HR doing great job trying to cope with the pandemic situations, putting more focus on the mental wellbeing, and lots of webinars to acquire new knowledge/skill, and also increase the benefits etc.
2. Flexible working environment, permanent WFH arrangement and also unrecorded leave for vaccinations. Company doing a lot to drive up the vaccination among the employee.
3. Less rigid working environment, you are free to propose your ideas and solution if it works. Bosses are open to new ideas.
4. Startup working culture, there is almost no hierarchy between upper and lower level, you can reach out to anyone directly. Everything is very straightforward, don't have to go through complicated flow to get things done. Lots of opportunity to learn and build your character.
5. People to get rewarded/promoted for good performance, but also, low performers get retrenched.
The challenges1. HR has high tendency to lowball your salary offering. Like about 10-20% of your expected salary.
2. Disconnected working culture, teamworks is less emphasized and WFH makes everyone even more disconnected. Everyone does their own thing.
3. High workload and below average worklife balance. Expect people to call you (and attend meetings) after working hours, during your leaves or weekends.
4. Inconsistent target. The goal keep changing and you will eventually lost your direction after times.
5. High turnover rate is real.
