    Terrible for aspiring educators
The good thingsGood working relationship with colleagues.
The challengesPoor pay rate - it is better that you quit and reapply to enjoy higher salaries rather than hoping that one day your loyalty will be rewarded. Poor management - does not listen to new ideas. Stuck firmly in the past. Poor work/life balance - "Big ideas" but poor infrastructure and support system for teaching staff.

    Comfortable work environment
The good thingsComfortable work environment, good office culture in Dept of Psychology, very friendly and helpful people. Good if you want an easy job, and are not overly ambitious.
The challengesPay is very low, HR is very outdated in their practices and culture, upper management has lost touch with the ordinary staff. Will not be good for career progression.

    Overwork with low salary
The good thingsCannot see any good things
The challengesToo high workload. Lab class or tutorial class can have more than 30 students. Always assign new subjects to young lecturers, old lecturers always stick to the same subjects. They want freedom.

The good thingsAt least some of the leaders are friendly.
The challengesWe have a lot of workload, but the pay cant fit our workload. You need to do three person jobs but they only pay you half person salary. The salary is much more lower than the average market. Too much politics in this company makes the staff can’t focus on their work. Low career development opportunities. As long as the senior staff didn’t leave, there is no career development opportunities for youngsters.

The challengesAfter a great leader left the company and changes of the HOD, it is challenges for us to understand the needs of the HOD. Hence, I left the company due to this reason. Secondly, cause of the low salary . I have a lot of workload on my shoulders but they pay me low and less benefit in this company.

The good thingsHave external training provided
The challenges1 person need to do 3 persons work 1 tutorial / practical class can consist of > 30 students in order to save cost which is not following MQA standard and not good for students to learn Workload distribution is not balance, some lecturers too high, some very low. Politic happens here, give less workload to the staff he / she like 1 lecturer need to know how to teach many different subjects, old lecturers no need because they don't know All MQA documents wrong, but ask young lecturers to settle. Senior lecturers / management know nothing but can get higher salary.

Dynamic team with great talent development opportunities!
The good thingsGreat teamwork, excellent leadership from senior staffs, and plenty of interesting projects to take up as part of your career and personal development trajectory. Flexible working hours with kind, fair, and thoughtful boss. (As far as my department concern).
The challengesI could not ask for a better employer. I would consider myself lucky to be part of this team. As it is common to face day to day workplace issue, I find the challenges are common and managable, so I have nothing to complain. I am truly blessed to be part of this team.
