Not A Right Place For Engineer
The good thingsHR got a huge budget for training so everyone has a chance to learn but unfortunately higher management doesn't utilize employees skill and knowledge.
The challengesBreakdown is a routine and engineers are just fire fighter. Higher management is to arrogant to listen to experienced employees. And forget about technicians and engineers benefit. Working more than 24 hours is very common.

    Engineering Work at Hume Cement
The good thingsIt depends on who are your manager. Your work might be too much, but if your manager or HOD is supporting and teaching you as much as they can, then you are lucky. If you are on a normal day work, then you are much lucky, because work only for 5 days a week, with few call up work during your off day or rest day/holiday. Get to learn things super fast here, so take your opportunity and learn as much as possible.
The challengesWell, too much works especially if you are given the shift work, work at Saturday or Sunday or both, off day only once a week, working even on holidays if its your turn to work at that particular day. No added allowance apart from your salary except if you are on shift (+RM180 for non exec & +RM400 for exec). Overtime is controlled to be max 80 hours per month for those non exec, no overtime claim fro executives, only replacement holiday. Top boss are not from manufacturing industries, so you had to follow the norm.

The good thingsA lot of experience you can get here. All type of mechanical problem u can find. A very experienced and good boss (mechanical) can you learn from. U can bring your experienced here to any others industry, very useful experienced.
The challengesVery pressure and tough industry. Everything is rushing, the top management sucks, they will push you in every way, you need to learn and adapt fast, beyond normal working hours, on call basis and cannot apppy leave easily. Normally shutdown during Hari Raya, CNY and Depavali, you need to work!
