IGO has lost its way, prioritising incentives over culture and strategy, eroding performance
The good thingsPre-2024 (when things were proactive), I loved the culture of the company, the growth mindset and ability to do what they say they were going to do.
The challengesSignificant organisational change and instability - Since early 2024, the company has undergone major restructuring, cost pressures and strategic shifts. This has created uncertainty across teams and impacted morale, with employees navigating constant change and unclear direction. There has been a significant shift in leadership style compared to earlier years, and without a clear reset of identity, this has contributed to a decline in culture. There has been a noticeable shift toward a more-male led environment, with female attrition increasing despite competitive benefits. Decision-making is purely top-down, with reduced psychological safety and limited openness to challenge. IGO has lost its way - focusing on retaining people through benefits and empty promises that "things are coming", rather than rebuilding culture and clear strategic direction (rather than financial) which ultimately diminishes both employee engagement and the company itself.

Glad I worked there, wouldn't go back now, they're a shell of the glorious company it used to be.
The good thingsWhen I first started, IGO was a brave and progressive company. The land holding was significant and the people were courageous and adventurous. We had plenty of money to invest in best practice exploration.
The challengesUnfortunately once the GM Peter passed that signaled the gradual downfall of the company. A poor decision to acquire Western Areas was the beginning of it and things got worse from there. I witnessed the WORST redundancy process that dragged out for months, the psychosocial harm done was massive
