JFAS commenced business on 26 May 1979, under the name of Lim and Hszieh Sendirian as an unlimited private company. On 15 March 1985, it became a private company and was renamed as Apex Securities. Apex was listed in BMSB on 1 August 1991, while on 5 March 1996, Apex Securities become known as JFAS. On 16 October 2000, JFAS opened its PJ Branch at Menara Choy Fook On, PJ New Town as part of its strategy to service its clientele within the vicinity of Petaling Jaya.
