I really appreciate the company sending me and fellow colleagues to attend overseas university training trips in Australia and the UK.
The good thingsI am a happy member of staff at JM Education Group. I find the above Nov 2024 comment to be biased. The working environment is conducive with high camaraderie.
The challengesThe management encourages independence of thoughts, exercises delegation and provides career development pathway to the productive colleague.

    Target oriented and Multitask job
The good thingsSalary will be release in time and friendly colleagues.
The challengesNeed to be very independent, self-learning and self-discipline. Multitask job and need to standby for working on weekends. Company need to increase the salary, bonus and benefit for motivate employees.

Lack of mentors in this company
The good thingsFriendly and helpful colleagues, exposure to new knowledge in the industry almost everyday. Occasional product trainings. Really nice CEO and GM, they understand the employees’ needs
The challengesNo basic necessities in the office (eg water dispenser, microwave etc it’s hard for us cause we bring packed lunches). lack of mentors in the branch I work in, it’s hard when you’re new to the company and have minimal ideas on how to consult students and parents, or do not possess much specific product knowledge about the universities and courses, manager would just mind their own business. Low incentive for each client in exchange of tedious follow up tasks. was told to have overseas trip but it’s tied to a one year contract every time you’re chosen to travel overseas. Only one rest day (sometimes no rest day during peak season)

    Good colleagues, Sales-driven counselling
The good thingsThe colleagues are mostly friendly. They will guide you on things that you aren't sure or familiar (depending on their mood by the way). You are exposed to people and universities from different countries. If you love to help, talk to and meeting new people, this job is for you!
The challengesMost companies have a boss that nobody likes, so this is no exception. Some colleagues are helpful, but only when their mood is good, which can be very frustrating sometimes when you urgently need help. Customers (parents and students) can be very demanding sometimes. If you like counselling that is genuinely helping someone, this job may not suit you as the sales target can cloud your decisions.

The good things- Great opportunity to learn of the industry: Education. - Enhance my language skill (English). Knowing other languages is an added advantage. - Boss is supportive.
The challengesRest days, especially during the peak seasons.
