My internship at Lima Bintang Logistics Sdn Bhd provided a transformative experience in a family-oriented and supportive work environment, where structured mentoring, professional development programs, and engaging activities enhanced my skills and confidenceThe good thingsDuring my internship at Lima Bintang Logistics Sdn Bhd in the HR department, the company’s commitment to fostering a family-oriented work environment especially emphasized teamwork and open communication, which greatly benefited me.
As a Business Administration student with a limited background in HR and logistics, I was provided with structured mentoring that significantly enhanced my knowledge and skills. The company is also committed to professional development, which is reflected through regular training programs, including sales presentation training, an introduction to various lorry types, safety initiatives and others enabling interns and employees to gain practical knowledge, enhance our skills and build confidence in our roles.
Additionally, engaging activities such as the Dream Board Program and Reading Book Day enriched my experience, promoting personal and professional growth in a supportive and inclusive workplace.
The challengesHowever, the parking area should be improved for better safety, especially during evenings when it gets dark. Adequate lighting, security measures, and visibility enhancements are essential, particularly for ensuring the safety of individuals like women and men.
Besides, if we don’t bring an umbrella, we’ll get wet because the employee parking area is quite far away from the company. Therefore, I suggest installing covered walkways to protect staff from the rain.
