Unfair benefits and recognition between local and expat employees. Prioritize on expats wellbeing only. Operating a decade but backwards and caveman way of workload. Focus on cost cutting when it comes to local employees benefits.
The good thingsFree lunch/carpark and health insurance.
The challengesMicromanaging & Controlling/Dictating Mid to Top Management.Distrusting local employees workload and Provided poor communication in work delegation. Focusing on growth of College and Neglect local employees career advancement/wellbeing. Last minute and constant change of workload. Manual and paperwork, repetitive prolonged workload. Focus on replacing than retaining employees that helped the growth of College. No loyalty benefits or acknowledgement for long term employees.

    Management has no consistency
The good thingsThe benefits are excellent. Free lunches, health and life insurance and many more. Good environment with the colleagues.
The challengesThe Senior Management Team has no consistency at all. The academic staff might reap the benefits however the support staff always get affected as a result of their inconsistency. Too many changes and always go back and forth. The bursar says one thing and the master would say the opposite. The bureaucracy is ridiculous. Micromanagement by the bursar affecting the staff so much. Almost feels like there's no trust to our work. When too much changes staff productivity is affected. Always change and the timeline will also be affected.

The good thingsA lot of benefit such as medical, free food, good facilities.
The challengesIf you are good with superior then you will get good career development. If you are silent & not talk to much, even you have done much of work, nobody recognize your contribution.

    A great working place!
The good thingsGood working environment. The staff are friendly and supportive. Employer always concerns about the workers' welfare. Senior staff will always guide and help you to improve in terms of working productivity and skills development.
The challengesChallenges of working here is the staff and pupils are mostly English speaking people so to those who are not using English as first language then you will have to improve more in English written and spoken. That's all.

Best place to be recognise with what you do best!
The good thingsThe Good and Bad of Being a School Teacher The top benefit of teaching is the difference you make in the lives of your students. While there are plenty of challenges, the days where your lesson goes better than planned, a student proclaims you the best teacher of all time, or you witnessed a struggling student have an “a-ha moment” after your special demonstration, will leave you feeling like teaching isn’t work – it’s a rewarding passion.

    Flexibility
The good thingsManagement is very flexible in staff working hours and understand staff needs. Management always has an open door for staff to highlight any issues and welcome all for any feedback to improve the college overall.
The challengesStill in progress or developing international school which massive standard of operating needs to be review and implement.

    Splendid
The good thingsI had developed a real skill in dealing with a very wide variety of people from expatriates to local Malaysians. The company offers pretty good benefits in terms of providing medical benefits, dental and lunches for staff. Staff were encouraged to work within the working hours and there weren't much overtime unlike many other companies that I worked for previously. If you are on leave, your superior would not call or email you at all during your break.
The challengesIt's a subjective way to define. Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Challenge is a way to learn and improve!

    A Feedback
The good thingsThe school is very much into the British way of doing things which is fine if you wish to learn how to work with expatriates.
The challengesThey seldom give feedback until it is too late. You should not assume that it is fine. Do always sit down and talk to your supervisor on how you are doing. The British are very polite and that is the cause of many problems. They seldom do give you a direct feedback until the day of reckoning.

    it's all about reality...
The good thingsMy working colleagues especially my line manager treat us as one of the family member even we are from different country and culture. There is no limit to learn new things and it's just amazing to work in school environment.I always deal with expatriate teachers and parents but people surround me especially our head of department always give us a chance to be ourself to handle the issues without a

A Look into Working in MCM
The good thingsThe people. The environment. It's good that I get to work here in a UK branch of International School. Everyone here is friendly, literally, in a professional way.
The challengesI wouldn't want to change a thing. The school is already perfect to me.

    Working for an international school
The good thingsThe company offers pretty good benefits in terms of providing medical benefits, dental and lunches for staff. Staff were encouraged to work within the working hours and there weren't much overtime unlike many other companies that I worked for previously. If you are on leave, your superior would not call or email you at all during your break.
The challengesThe company at times fail to understand the local culture that it operates in. There also seems to be a invisible line separating the local and expatriate staff e.g. lunches in the hall for example would see expatriate staff sitting at one table and local staff at another. When you drive out from the school, expatriate staff's cars would not be checked by the guards but not so for the local staff.
