Kuala Lumpur City Centre Kuala Lumpur11 to 12 years in the role, former employee
My tenure at Maxis was an enriching journey of professional growth, where I developed resilience, agility, and strong stakeholder management skills in a high-performing corporate environment
The good thingsWorking at Maxis offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment with exposure to large-scale projects, strong leadership, and a culture that encourages innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. The company provides good employee benefits and a strong brand reputation in the telco industry.
The challengesNavigating through rapid changes, tight deadlines, and cross-functional coordination can be demanding. The high-performance culture requires adaptability, resilience, and the ability to manage pressure while maintaining quality.

If you not afraid of challenge and willing to expand your capacity, jump in.
The good thingsEmployee Engagement seriously have various activity - name it from table tennis, photography, culinary, baking session, CSR, and the company really support you to grow as long as you willing to go for it. The working space is futuristic and open space, you can learn how to interact with people you 're working with. There's no limit on what you can and you want to learn. Every month you will have personal quality time with your direct manager to review how's you rock in the previous month.
The challengesIf you are an individual player, you may need to think how to be a great team member and work along side. IT world evolves quickly and that means we also need to adjust even quickly. At some point you will get pressure but if you manage to overcome it, you found your inner potential.

Messy with constant change in direction
    The good thingsNice-looking office
The challengesSlow paced - it takes a long time for things to get done. A lot of processes involved, a lot of approvals to be gotten. People respond slowly with constant reminder to respond to emails. People are even late for meetings and refused to vacate the meeting rooms booked even though they're already late. For a mobile company, there is no mobility. Still have to have face to face meetings that are often unnecessary but still need to be done, because people don't respond to emails, so you need to 'catch' them in a meeting to communicate.

    Good learning & Great team
The good thingsMaxis Academy provided lots of opportunities for personal learning & growth. Good office working environment.
The challengesManagement need to weed out real dead woods & bad apples, otherwise it will result in more work for certain group of people while majority takes rest or credit on the good work done by others. This definitely will not help the company to grow.

    The Maxis experience!
The good thingsThe company invested in the employees by way of providing ample trainings at all levels. Motivation camps; team building events, family day events, etc helped build team spirit among employee. Annual dinners was something to look forward to as there was always an 'exciting' door gift waiting. Working condition and environment were great and conducive.
The challengesWorking under supervisors who were not as competent was a challenge. In the long run, it stunted the career development path for the employee and compels one to make difficult decisions; look for greener pastures.

    Flexibility working style
The good thingsAs this my 1st job after my graduation, i find out one of awesome place with some entertainment activities. So we had more fun to enhance and learn more skills. The employer wont always supervise your work but we have completed the work within timeframe. Even income average but satisfied and happily working there due to friendly working environment.
The challengesThe challenge that i faced when working there is so much multi tasking work, such as we have completed some task A to Z so we manage the CSL. If the project got critical situation need to stay back and wait until all the other projects settle which wasting time.

The Great and Awesome organization to work with
The good thingsI have chance to explore new roles and i have given opportunity to take up challenging job scope. A place where i have learn and gain many knowledges, skills, trainings and etc. Skillful managers/leaders who always been a guidance, supportive and lead and preparing new leaders in the organisation. A place where i would like to work with again if given a chance.
The challengesThe difficulty or challenges where faced is too many red tapes and hierarchy system taking longer time. Certain process can be improved and save more time and lead to great efficiency. Dealing with external parties also have been challenging task. New procedure and new system introduced as well been very challenging from time to time.
