What’s it like working at Maybank?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Maybank value the opportunity to learn new skills and gain knowledge about banking operations, with exposure to various departments. The supportive colleagues and good teamwork create a friendly and caring atmosphere, whilst benefits and perks are competitive, particularly for high performers. The working environment is described as healthy, with open communication across management levels.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. Work-life balance can be demanding due to high stress levels and a fast-paced environment. Employees mention high sales targets and performance expectations, particularly for junior and sales positions. The compensation structure, including base salaries and commission arrangements, could be enhanced. Workload can be substantial with some branches experiencing staff shortages, and onboarding support for new staff could be improved. IT professionals note that technology systems may be outdated for those seeking to work with the latest innovations.

The good thingsLuckily my branch was good. Other peer were not that lucky. Nothing good.
The challengesTerrible incentives. Low salary. Benefits non-existent. Allowance higher than industry so that they don’t pay EPF. Allowance ONLY paid out given 50% KPI achieved. Package NOT competitive at all
