OKUMURA METALS (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD (OMM) was established in 1987 and has since achieved tremendous growth and improvement throughout the years prominently as a manufacturer of Copper based products, components in Air Conditioners and Refrigerators.OMM own by Okumura Metals of Japan (OMJ) was the first overseas factory outside Japan which was starts production in the year 1988. The operation was starts in a small rented factory with 26 workers in Bandar Baru Bangi Industrial area with RM 1 million capitals.In the year 1990, OMM build his own factory at Lot 15, Jalan P/1, Section 13, Bandar Baru Bangi and the factory extension was completed in the year 1992 with revised capital of RM 4 million. In the year 1995, OMM bought of a piece of land from 4M Builders and build his 2nd factory in the year 1996. The company’s capital been increased to RM 8 million in the year 1996 and to RM 12 million in the year 2003.OMM rewarded ISO 9001: 2000 certification in the year 2000 and subsequently ISO 14001 in the year 2008. Currently around 470 workers been employed by OMM which include 50% of foreign workers from Bangladesh, Nepal and Indonesia. The total sales turn over around RM 120 million per annum.
