Managing Human Resource? Efficiency or Effectiveness
The good thingsThe Human Resource in Tanjung Malim manages its operational and strategic functionality by having a political approach towards execution of tasks, finding solutions, problems solving and engagement / negotiation with the senior management / union as this method reflects efficiency and effectiveness. Currently, this performance standard had been achieved.
The challengesThis existing approach towards Human Resource reflects an old mindset that is traditional in its approach which is not in tune with the modern and progressive Human Resource today. In reality, it is opined that their efficiency and effectiveness level of achievement had not addressed the issue of competency instead of political solution, Analytics instead of statistics and Leadership values instead of political manoeuvring. Also noted, the political approach practised does not promote transparency & empowerment. Just to share, the professional leadership in a modern and progressive Human Resource today sets the standard of excellence performance at Operational efficiency & competency, Strategic effectiveness & Performance Analytics and Leadership with ethics & integrity as values. If the transition is done progressively and comprehensively, the performance standard of excellence set for Human Resource is definitely achievable.

Quiet surrounding & peaceful without hustle and bustle of traffic.
The good thingsa lot to learn here, basically "Proton Way" is totally comprehensive in terms of automotive manufacturing development, one will totally enjoy broad learning experience. Aside, a lot of technology transfers from collaboration with Japanese and Chinese lately will keep automotive manufacturing experience here unforgettable for lifetime.
The challengesA lots of bureaucracy and heavy politics involved in order to get things done. Guess it is part of our life, the domestic skills that not all possessed but can be polished once one set to embark their carreer here at Proton.

Great opportunities with reasonable salary but not competitive
The good thingsProvide opportunity to learn the car manufacturing process, maintenance technology, robot control and etc. Provide a cross functional team working experience. Develop engineers and technicians with excellent problem solving skills.

Grind all day everyday week in week out
The good thingsAble to learn wide scope of things other than specific daily tasks. Seniors are usually experienced and received overseas training (usually from Europe or Japan). Usualy work in a team to face daily challenges and seniors lead by example. Good perks and benefits. Work life balance is good.
The challengesLow pay grade and almost impossible to climb a pay grade within 4-5 years. Directions are usually blur and can sometimes effect work performance. Little anual leave days and sometimes leave days arent same with other people. Its difficult to plan out things with family. Bonus? Dream on.

    GOOD EXPERIENCE

    Logistic and planning
The good thingsKnow the processes flow of plant production control. Various applications used like SAP and AS400. Good relations with mother company staff and support from the management. Various working environment within the shops inside the plant.
The challengesNeed to give more training to the staff. Create internal courses and implement it to the staffs. No matter what level they are in. Peoples development are important for the company and for the person involved. May be you can increase more on the salary for diploma holders that are working as operator. If can't try giving them further courses equal as Procter and Gamble.
