I come from a public finance background, and after the 2003 merger I had to quickly adapt, performing with efficiency and accuracy in a challenging, highly demanding culture.
I developed a phobia of PBB’s management culture, where the better you perform, the more is demanded — with sacrifices of time, energy, and workload — leaving me constantly drained. In my 30+ years of work, the best culture I experienced was during my time in finance; however, as I ranked up, my responsibilities and workload only kept increasing without ever easing.I felt that the faster and more efficiently I performed, the more demands kept coming back to me. The good thingsStaff benefits good.
The challengesOnce you rank up to officer level, which means being part of the management team, we were not encouraged to claim OT but were instead paid a bonus. This was actually meant to compensate for the sacrifice of not claiming OT. Therefore, the so-called year-end bonus doesn’t really feel like a bonus.
