    The Robinson Group manages eight retail entities that trade under the following brands - Robinsons, John Little, Marks & Spencer, River Island and Fat Face. The Robinsons Group has also secured exclusive rights to high street brands Coast and Principles in Singapore and popular Spanish brand, Trucco.Robinson and Company, the founding company, started trading in Singapore in 1858. In 1955 Robinson and Company acquired John Little, which was established in 1842. Marks & Spencer, which traded under the St. Michael name, first operated in 1958 in a John Little Store. The St. Michael name was officially changed to Marks & Spencer in 1994. The three brands have established themselves as household favourites with young and old alike. The two recent additions to the Robinsons Group portfolio of retail entities are River Island and Fat Face. River Island features exciting high-street casual wear and Fat Face's clothing and accessories exude laidback cool.Today, the Robinsons Group is part of the Al-Futtaim Group, which comprises a diverse range of strategically positioned operating subsidiaries and associate companies in the Gulf region. Established in the 1930s as a trading business, Al-Futtaim is one of the most progressive regional business houses, with headquarters in Dubai, UAE.Al-Futtaim operates through more than 65 companies in sectors as diverse as commerce, industry and services, and employs in excess of 20,000 people across the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Pakistan, Singapore and Europe.
