A rewarding legal internship with work-life balance and great team culture.
The good thingsI interned at the Legal and Compliance Department. Every day brought different tasks, which made the experience interesting and dynamic. I also enjoyed a good work-life balance. Every Wednesday (weather permitting), we had group games after work—either badminton, bowling, or other sports activities—which were always fun. Everyone was respectful, and there was no such thing as a toxic environment. I truly loved my time here and have promised myself that I’ll apply for a permanent position if given the chance.
The challengesOne of the challenges I faced was being placed in the Legal and Compliance Department while having studied law in Kuala Lumpur. The laws in Sarawak are different from those in Peninsular Malaysia, so I had to take the time to learn and understand Sarawak-specific laws and be able to differentiate between the two. But overall, everything was manageable and went smoothly
