So far this is the best place I have worked in.
The good thingsWith the new management introducing medical benefit, it is a big improvement for the staff welfare. We got dental, optical too. Claim reimbursement is also on time (15th), salary is also on time (28th). Good environment. Support from management is also great. I had a personal problem, I raised to them, and they actually helped. If you require tools or PPE, can discuss with the management first so they can purchase for you. Avoid buying with your own salary or you'll start to self-complain saying your salary is not enough. To be honest, I loved working with the company. I would love to return back one day.
The challengesThe company is improving, compared to all the previous reviews. For Engineers, the challenges would be frequent travel requirement. But if you have issues to travel or require a time off due to personal reasons (marriage/engagement preparation, wife pregnancy is due, or family member is sick), just discuss with the management. With frequent travel, you will also need to plan your personal luggage to 20kg maximum due to airline limitation (this is also offshore limitation). Your safety boots can be worn during flight if you want to reduce your luggage by 2kg.

Nice environment, good salary, new management
The good thingsWhat impress me when working at Scopetel is their office ambiance. Nice decoration. In terms of work environment, for me it's manageable for me who worked at Scopetel HQ. The salary was good for medium company like Scopetel. Scopetel have 3 branches (KL, Miri and KK). As previous reviews was not so good in terms of the salary schedule payment & claim payment, let me clarify here. I don't know the story before 2017 (old management), as i know it's about the financial constraint but after 2017, company from Dubai which is Northtelecom acquires the Scopetel. So from 2017, Scopetel was under new management with new regulations and rules. The salary on time (every 28th but if fall during weekend, the salary will be credited on subsequent days) , the claims will pay every 15th every months, good medical benefit (with dental & optical) and others.
    The challengesIt's manageable so far.

Good company to gain experience in VSAT technology, and open doors to other career opportunities
The good thingsThe company respects your time when taking leave, and doesn't disturb on the weekends. Flexible working hours on working days (onshore), just make sure to complete your job for the day (if any given). Opportunity to go offshore location for engineers. Good experience for fresh graduates.
The challengesCompany needs to improve on salary payment and claims to staff on time. Benefits are low compared to competing companies. No formal technical training, focus more to on the job training with senior engineers. Company acquired by NorthTelecom, so company has a roadblock in decision making.

    Unpredictable Agenda
The good thingsFlexible time panning, Low work pressure and dedicated teamwork regardless hour. Good workmanship towards executing task and personalize man hour for job review
The challengesSalary payment delay 1/2 months pending, Allowances payment delay 6 months pending. Reason tight cash-flow questionable due to good income clients but poor fiance management. Technical team changing rapidly but management stagnant even in bad shape financially. bad work enviroment

    Beyond Expectation
The good thingsflexible working hours, good salary. Good working peers, 6 months before being laid off. Im lucky because im still with the company.
The challengesNo research and development (r&d) , frequent ad hoc job travel requirement, high income tax cut off, unresponsive finance requirement, delayed payment for claims ( 3 months gap), poor management caused contract losses, no KPI hence no talent stagnant movement, no cross training, due to head direction unclear staff being reduces to cover losses, same equipment for 10 years, no major skill advance
