    The Shaw Organisation was founded in 1924.Today, Shaw owns and operates nine multiplexes across Singapore, featuring the latest developments in cinema technology, such as IMAX, DTS:X sound and premium offerings (premiere, Lumiere and the first and only family theatre, Dreamers). Shaw also a film distributor, it, has released over 500 films in various languages and in a wide variety of genres.Apart from movie and cinema business, Shaw Organisation’s real estate portfolio has also steadily developed through the years and is currently managing several commercial and residential properties including Shaw Centre, Shaw House, Oriental Plaza, Hullet Rise and Shaw Plaza – Twin Heights. Shaw Centre and parts of Shaw House were retrofitted, and the entire refurbishment was completed in 2014. Since then, Shaw Centre has been transformed into a modern contemporary shopping mall which brings new buzz to Singapore’s famous Orchard Road shopping belt. Shaw Plaza – Twin Heights at Balestier is currently undergoing Asset Enhancement Works and when completed will receive a new lease of life transforming the mall into an Edutainment Centre along the main thoroughfare of Balestier.
