The good thingsGood company as a fresh recruiter. Theoretical and practical training was given with weekly follow-ups. 1 hour bonding time on Fridays during working hours and quarterly celebration, usually over a meal.
The challengesThe employees in the company come and go very fast. No proper follow-up with client and tasks not cascaded well to subordinates. A lot of politics for a small organisation. KPIs may not be suitable for business that is dealing with humans.

    Great place to work
The good thingsBosses are great. Regular training for my chosen career in recruitment. People are very friendly with a true sharing and open door policy
The challengesHigh expectations to begin with but once I met my targets I got lots of autonomy.

Good place to start your career
The good thingsVery supportive and friendly colleagues helped me to get used to working in recruitment when I was first starting out. Bosses also practice an open-door policy, so you're free to walk in and have discussions about how your work is getting on.
The challengesBeing an SME, administration & processing was always a challenge. A fair chunk of a consultant's work goes into administration, but it may be growing pains as the company grows.

    Great bosses
The good thingsI came back from overseas and had the choice to join a few companies. I joined Sheffield because of the people. I'm very happy with the choice I made. My colleagues are wonderful - so helpful and we have a great team spirit. My bosses have given me guidance and I feel I have been fast tracked with more responsibility for projects and clients.
The challengesSmall but growing plus some of the clients have odd requests. We try and do everything a clients asks for.

If you have no career aspirations, join Sheffield Executive.
The good thingsThe colleagues employed to work there made the whole experiences bearable. Team activities were moderately engaging.
The challengesThe challenges includes being micromanaged by a less than capable manager, given false hope on rewards, inconsistent & multiple reporting structures, absolutely below market wages on benefits and basic salary.

Great place to get a foundation in recruitment
The good thingsThe training was very comprehensive and I was able to pick up a lot of knowledge. I'd rate this as a fantastic place to build up a base of knowledge if you want a career in recruitment.
The challengesYou have to seek out the Management to get advice. They know a lot about recruitment but I realise now I have left I should have found ways to spend more time and learn from the Manager more.
