I have over 5 years of experience in managing government-funded projects, supporting Bumiputera entrepreneurs, and working closely with various stakeholders to drive regional and community development.
The good thingsWorking at TERAJU Sarawak has given me valuable experience in managing projects, supporting Bumiputera entrepreneurs, and working with various government and private agencies. I learned how to plan and monitor programs, evaluate companies for funding/financing, and prepare important reports and documents. I also improved my skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving through meetings, site visits, and handling multiple tasks. Most importantly, I feel proud to be part of efforts that help local communities and businesses grow.
The challengesAt TERAJU, one of my main challenges was managing multiple programs and stakeholders at the same time. I also had to monitor rural projects with limited resources, assess companies with incomplete financial data, and balance strategic tasks with a lot of administrative work. Despite these challenges, I stayed committed and ensured that all tasks were delivered on time

Very challenging and requires high passion for Bumiputera Agenda
The good thingsOpportunity to deal with senior management team members from ministries, agencies, government-linked companies as well as NGOs and private sector companies. Steep learning curve in familiarising with government policies and high-level strategies.
The challengesShould there be any political instability or uncertainty, many action plans and strategies may be delayed, terminated or revised which can be frustrating after many months of hard work put in.

Best outfit to build your networking.
The good thingsBest outfit to build networking. Great colleagues. Minimal office politics. A window for professionals from the private sector to gain experience and insights with regards to Government's operating mechanism across level, from Central (Federal) to State.
The challengesThe work tide changes drastically, expect last minutes changes and requests with very tight deadlines.

TERAJU - Not for the faint hearted
The good thingsThe opportunity to assist bumiputera businesses to grow to to the next level. The freedom to create initiatives for the growth of bumiputera businesses. The opportunity to meet with VVIP's and also to discuss on the partnership that can be explored. Networking with various successful business people and also gain valuable knowledge of various industries.
The challengesStaffing is a big issue where I have only one Senior Executive to handle the gargantuan task of reshaping and becoming the game changer for Sarawak bumiputera businesses. I love challenges but in the end without staff support I am not able to work effectively thus not able to really focus on the minute details.

Had a chance to work directly under the YAB Prime Minister's Office was indeed a great experience. We were the think tank or the planner on many initiatives for Bumiputera's centric programmes. Chances to do networking with who and who especially at the M
The good thingsNetworking and building relationships with the Ministries. Remuneration is acceptable and competetive. Learning experience. Had a chance to be part of the strategic planner for YAB PM's initiatives i.e. SUPERB, Bumiputera Empowerment Programme, Teras etc was priceless.
The challengesHad to work in a small team of an average of 50 workforce is a bit challenging considering we're taking care of a total of almost 70% Malaysians (Bumiputera). You are expected to be on the roll at all times & to perform. Expectations are high. It is a bit difficult if you had to go for days of training or on leaves as no one is to take up your role when you are away. More manpower is recommended.
