Such a good experience and stage for begin a career as a site supervisor and Safety Officer
The good thingsFull guidance from all the staff about the Safety and Health issues and how to deal with the activities and workers in the site. During the internship, I'am located under Health, Safety and Environment Department as HSE trainee. Some of my job scope are (1) I'am trained to run HSE weekly audit for every construction activities; (2) Followed the process of scaffold inspection checked by an external auditor; (3) Photocopied the construction document, construction drawing and monthly construction report; (4) Carried out a mini project which is about “Monitoring and Management of Waste Production in MBSA Banquet Hall construction site”.
The challengesThe short time of internship (3 months) make me not able to fully exposed to the activities and further knowledge as a trainee in HSE department. For future time, I suggest the company that serve a place for an internship should guide the new trainee about the working activities and the way to deal with it. The company should list some of the job scope that the trainee should be achieved among the internship period.
