Huge Jobscopes with a Very Competitive Salary
The good thingsWorking hours are quite flexible even though with a requirement of attendance recording daily. Teams across departments can work diligently to support each other. Managers for certain departments are so supportive.
The challengesThe company could improve on the compensation and appreciation to its workers. Most new workers (young and fresh graduates) are offered on contract basis with unrealistic targets to achieve in order to be offered permanent positions. This sets a wave of turnover as the results of contract staffs seeking for a permanent role or better appreciation. Plus, the salary offered is relatively low for a contract worker which gives them an insecurity and protection for their future. Upon renewal, there are very few staffs offered for a permanent position but only contract to be renewed with no increment at all. The company could also learn to reduce the bureaucracy especially when staffs would require to work across divisions, BUs or departments. This could reduce the bottleneck of the working process.

    knowledge about control valve
The good thingsTranswater's staff always give me new knowledge about control valve. Besides, they also teach me how to do inspection and test the control.
The challengesThe most challenging working in this company is you have to offer yourself to do work or task. If not, they will not give you any of it. As an intern that just learn about control valve, this give me a bit of hard time to learn from the scratch. But somehow, the hard work paid off. The knowledge that i have gain were no where to get.

The good thingsa good field to have get as much knowledge as you could. the environment is quite welcoming and friendly from top management to bottom. with self disicpline and high motivation, company is allowing you to explore the market independently and you will strive to success.
The challengesas much as the economy is concern, with too quick of expanding and growing, sometimes the financial will be very crucial and tight. beware of some cut off the benefits.

    Politic ground, bottlenecking
The good thingsYou will have a lot of things to learn here, as Transwater carries good and well known products.
The challengesIf you are targeting yourself to strive excellently, that will be a great challenge. It is not about you, but the company's culture and people will be your bottleneck. There is no commission scheme in my role, although a so called Sales. Some more, if you are entitled for any special incentive, that will have to be shared with others, which I think very very inappropriate.

Employer1. The company's business comprises of selling engineered products to the oil & gas, power and general industries. Therefore some element of technical competence and know how is needed to close every sale. 2. The company believes in selling good value products to resolve customer's problems in order to protect its long term relationships. The company does not believe in selling at all costs and pushing for the highest sales figures possible as we do not want to burn relationships with our customers by selling them products they do not need or providing inadequate after sales service. 3. In order to achieve that, we have a compensation system that reflects these values, where sales people have a good base salary and are rewarded for their performance via their year end bonus as we understand sometimes the effort that goes into the closing the sale (or sometimes not closing the sale) may not necessarily be reflected in the results. 4. It is also important to point out that on average, sales people in our company have a higher base salary than operational or administrative staff as sales is the lifeblood of our company and we would not survive without sales 5. The company also instituted a commission policy to reward and encourage non sales people to participate in sales and understand and appreciate the challenges in doing sales. 6. This system was also meant to reward people who managed to sell products that were not from their division (cross divisional sales) and also old stock (since there is a holding cost for these) 7. As was made clear to you in your annonymous emails, this commission system was not implemented to benefit those people whose job function is to sell the products from their respective divisions. le you are already paid your salary to do your job and u are compensated based on points 2 and 3 stated above therefore we should not need to pay you further commissions for fulfilling your responsibility. 8. If you believe a commission is needed to motivate you to do your job better, then you may be better off in a direct selling organisation or perhaps selling insurance or mutual funds. 9. This company stands by its principles that our focus is to build long term relationships with our customers and that commission based sales is not the best way to achieve this.

Broken Promises, Low Benefits, Inflexible Working Conditions
The good thingsNothing. There is absolutely nothing good to be said of. You get thrown into roles you never even asked for if that's your kind of thing, but the ones you signed up for never ever come into being.
The challengesWas promised to be trained in Process Engineering, but there wasn't a Process Dept in existence to start with. People here were generally rigid, and if you weren't with them you were against them. Management was inflexible and not sensitives to the satisfaction & needs of employees. In addition, base salary & benefits were already terrible given the long & harsh working conditions at field.
