What’s it like working at Tung Shin Hospital?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Tung Shin Hospital appreciate the friendly and supportive colleagues who create a collaborative environment and are willing to share knowledge. The hospital offers abundant learning opportunities through training programmes and exposure to diverse medical cases, alongside excellent staff medical benefits with comprehensive packages and subsidies. Salary and bonuses are paid reliably and on time, and many staff members value the positive work environment that helps develop their communication skills with patients.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. The workload can be heavy, particularly due to staffing shortages that require covering multiple departments, and work-life balance may be affected by late hours and occasional work on public holidays. The hospital information system and facilities are somewhat outdated and undergoing improvement. There is some resistance to change within the organisation, along with challenges in departmental integration and internal politics. The workplace is culturally Chinese-centred with Mandarin as the primary language, which may present communication considerations. As a non-profit organisation, remuneration is basic and may not always reflect the workload demands.

A good place to grow and learn new things.
The good thingsFriendly colleague and staff, was very welcomed when joining. Good and cheap food, there's also a lot of halal-friendly Chinese restaurants around. Functional and maintained facilities, very comfortable with the cubicle and air conditioning. A lot of learning opportunities, they also willing to send you to study/training.
The challengesCulturally Chinese centered. A lot of staff that can't speak other language than Mandarin. For HR, should be required to know (I don't). Was advised that there's hardly a work life balance for HR. All colleagues stays late until almost midnight. Feels bad when I'm the only one following the normal working hours as per contract. Got a heavy workload since short-staffed. But renumeration is basic since it's a non profit organization.

Despite my qualifications and the expertise I bring to the role, I often feel that my contributions are not fully recognized or valued. This lack of acknowledgment can be disheartening and makes it difficult to stay motivated in an environment where merit does not consistently translate into opportunity or advancement
The good thingsSeveral of colleagues consistently demonstrate a collaborative and supportive attitude. They are always willing to offer assistance and share their knowledge, which greatly contributes to a positive and productive work environment sometimes
The challengesinternl biases and orgztnl politics that impact fairness and growth opportunities. it seems that advancement is influenced more by internal alliances than by merit or performance. can be discouraging for indvdls who consistently dmnstrate strong skills and dedication but are not within favored ntwks
