    Old School Working Culture
The good thingsGood thing about working here is work life balance and job stability.
The challengesBureaucratic management style and promotion is very slow. Also, a lot of administration works that required it to be manually done and management not willing to invest on good system for digitalization and automation. Can't see much career advancement here and the working culture here is quite old school. Mostly, the stress comes from bosses as they expect you to perform excellently with minimal resources.

    Hierarchical Working Environment
The good thingsThe bonus and staff benefits. 1-month annual leaves but very difficult to find a free period to clear it. Facilities and outsourced training. Strong documentation and proper filing.
The challengesWhile some are happy with the flexible working hours, I find that as a junior lecturer, this is uninspired and isolated. Many students, hence, the university doesn't really encourage you to do research and they don't embrace changes because no such need to change. Quite stagnant, recommended for those looking to get the monthly paycheck, not suitable for those really interested to contribute in the tertiary education particularly in their field.

Good for the transition period from Junior to Senior
The good things- Provide attractive employee welfare packages in terms of days of annual leaves, sick leaves, and high contribution to the EPF - Good for young people to engage with different generations of people to understand their working style, communication, culture, and mindset. - The company starts hiring the young generation employees for more inputs, contributions, and chances. - Provide internal workshops for self-enhancement.
The challenges- The administrative systems are not friendly and not improved even though the institution has been many years; less digitalized and computerized make the paperworks endless in every position; the employees basically spend a lot of times just to get the work done because of manual working culture and environment. It is quite challenging for young generation as they wish to work efficiency and cut down the nonsense procedures. Wonder if there's a research and development team or department to discuss and improve the administrative sections of this institution but not just move away the tasks away from someone and shift to another party. - Career advancement is quite passive here, the promotion is based on year of services (at least 10 years), and as of an administrative staff, they are seldom to be appreciated and their voices less to be heard, the management might determine whatever decision based on internal arrangement or decision but not based on the needs of the employees. They might try many efforts to remain outlook but the concerns to the internal staffs are less. - Genrally, the workload is heavy (depends on your department and positions), if you are fine with it, there's a good place to come. - It is more like a skill used for 10 years but not learn 10 skills in a year, it has repetitive tasks here, the longer you are here, the more you familiar with. You need to break through yourself else you could be in the comfort zone but still cannot get a promotion.

A conventional local education provider in Kuala Lumpur
The good thingsLocation of the main campus is situated at a high traffic area; students many; tutorial class size as big as 25; lecture session size more than 100 for some subjects; major strength diploma program expert; progressing in delivery of the Degree program; organization not a research-intensive university; slight potential due to lack of great leaders and leaderships.
The challengesVery much "Tayloristic"; huge workload, not much time for advancing researches; teaching-intensive.
