My long-term goals to grow as an educator & climb up the ladder were unfortunately short-lived.The good thingsFree carpark, able to make medical & professional development claims.
The challengesWorkload was tremendously heavy & not reflective of my salary, easily at least a 3-man show over time (mainly due to low manpower). One superior was too lenient (leading to passive leadership), while another lacked empathy in employee’s wellbeing & was micromanaging. Too many work politics & the higher management was mainly focusing on profit rather than the quality of education. In terms of promotion, despite having few years of the related field experience, the position was given to another employee who’s a fresh graduate. Gradually, the motivation to serve this company declined over time & resigning was the best decision to exit the unhealthy cycle of burnout & demotivation.
