What’s it like working at UCSI University?

    AI summary of recent reviews

UCSI University offers valuable learning opportunities across various professional fields and provides exposure to an enriching international work environment. Employees appreciate the basic benefits package, including medical claims and professional development opportunities, and many value their supportive colleagues and the collaborative atmosphere.

However, the institution faces some operational challenges, including concerns about workload management and the need for improved work-life balance. There are also opportunities to enhance the management approach, particularly regarding employee recognition and support. My long-term goals to grow as an educator & climb up the ladder were unfortunately short-lived.
The good thingsFree carpark, able to make medical & professional development claims.
The challengesWorkload was tremendously heavy & not reflective of my salary, easily at least a 3-man show over time (mainly due to low manpower). One superior was too lenient (leading to passive leadership), while another lacked empathy in employee’s wellbeing & was micromanaging. Too many work politics & the higher management was mainly focusing on profit rather than the quality of education. In terms of promotion, despite having few years of the related field experience, the position was given to another employee who’s a fresh graduate. Gradually, the motivation to serve this company declined over time & resigning was the best decision to exit the unhealthy cycle of burnout & demotivation.

Fun working environment, but very aggressive sales target.
The good things- Can take day(s) off on weekdays - Very supportive head-of-department/manager and colleagues
The challenges- Unrealistic sales target from Board of Directors - No sales incentive - Some colleagues can be too competitive in regards to personal KPI
