We have lunch together and sometimes gossip about our bosses (one of our ways to relief stress). There wasn't any politics when I was working there. Employer didn't blame me for what I didn't do well, they know I was still learning. We could claim mileage that are work-related. Sometimes the bosses celebrate our birthdays.
The challengesMany back and forth for something simple, or something that shouldn't require so much time for multiple approvals. Boss comes in after lunch or evening, so it was really hard to schedule meetings. Meetings may result in non-paid OT because of that. Some of my colleagues however stayed until past midnight for meetings.
