What’s it like working at Volkswagen?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Volkswagen appreciate the good benefits, including more annual leave than many other companies, and the work/life balance offered. They value the opportunities to learn and gain knowledge about the company's technology and products, as well as the teamwork and helpful colleagues. The multinational exposure and experience of working with people from around the globe is also seen as a positive aspect.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as concerns about management, with frequent changes in top management and a perceived lack of long-term planning and consideration for employee career progression. Some employees feel that there are limited opportunities for career growth and advancement within the company. Certain roles, such as Customer Sales, may experience a heavy workload and high expectations. Additionally, there is room for improvement in communication between management and staff, with some employees feeling that communication could be more direct.

The good thingsMNC benefits with more annual leaves offered than many other companies.
The challengesTop management (especially expatriate) changed once every few years, none of them would seriously look to improve the company for long term due to they only here for short term. They mostly here to enjoy a moment in a foreign country for a couple of years before they leave. Not every staffs being treated equally, only those who surrounded by top management are being treated as "important member" to the company, while the rest of the staffs are all expendable. No career path, management has no plan to consider everyone's benefit and career progression, they only care about their own benefits. Most of the staffs stayed the same level of position for many years, while promotion only offered of the same group of senior members once every few years. No chance for others. Many things they are doing here are non compliance to Volkswagen standard, they only do thing based on what they believe is right, and they don't know and also don't care whether or not there's any Volkswagen standard or policy to follow. Even so, they are still proud of they do.
