What’s it like working at Volume Research & Development?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Volume Research & Development value the opportunities for growth through research, development, and working directly on innovative projects. They appreciate the flexibility offered, with a lax dress code, self-directed learning, and the ability to work across departments. The chance to innovate and put their ideas into implementation is also seen as a positive, along with the good work/life balance.

However, as a growing company, there are some potential challenges, such as a current lack of management structure in place. With few senior developers, employees may find a lack of guidance from more experienced colleagues. Additionally, the benefits and perks are currently limited, as is typical for a small start-up company.

A place for people who love to brainstorm and contribute to the team
The good thingsAs a passionate engineer, you'll always have the chance to put your idea into implementation. You'll grow through research and development process on certain projects and experiments.
The challengesIt's a growing up company, so management team is not yet available in the company. Self improvement is a must, since it has lack of senior developer, but its not a real trouble. since you have all the resources you need to gain knowledge and experience.

It is what you would expect from a startup, will not cater to everyone
The good things1. The opportunity for career development by directly working on projects. 2. No walls between different departments. Good for those who don't want to be boxed in. 3. Void of bureaucracy. 4. Self-directed learning is encouraged. You are not limited to your title, and will need to learn other skills and adapt. 5. Due to the lack of bureaucracy, you can influence where the company will be heading, to a certain extent. 6. Lax dress code and lots of freedom, as long as you finish the task given.
The challenges1. Lack of bureaucracy also means lack of management. Might not be suitable for those who want management. 2. Benefits and perks are what you'd expect from a small start-up, i.e., not much. 3. A fresh start-up will necessarily lack seniors to guide you. Might not be suitable for those who wants to be handheld. 4. Being able to adapt will require you be fluid. Not suitable for those who want rigid structures.
