    Working experience in NGO
The good thingsSupportive colleagues Family culture working environment
The challengesMultitasking even workload is overwhelming. The company culture doesn't have career ladder, the management rather hire someone new to lead than train someone from the organization to be a leader.

Not the most exciting but helpful
The good thingsExposure to the organisation's works and the impact of NGOs in foreign countries. My colleagues were generally welcoming
The challengesThe task given were usually more menial and hence boring. More context should be helpful in making the task more engaging,

Positive working environment with great colleagues and work life balance!
The good thingsFriendly and easy approachable colleagues around you! Global support team so working from home applicable for valid reasoning with respective manager's approval.
The challengesNon-Governmental organization so please do not expect for consistent increment or bonuses. They do run on limited man power and tight funding budget but yet demanding internal business clients!

    Dream Employer
The good thingsThey really treasure their people. Many opportunities for upward and lateral moves. Staff development plan is taken seriously every year. Many opportunities to attend training locally as well as internationally. Plenty of opportunities to travel for business, summits and training. Work life balance is also view with utmost importance.
The challengesCompensation and benefits are below the industry standards but then again, this is a non-profit humanitarian organization and they are very prudent with the money they have been entrusted with. I used to travel business class and stay at 4-5 stars hotels but now its economy and 3-4 stars hotels. No big deal.

Working with and for an NGO - What to expect
The good thingsWorking for an NGO is certainly more rewarding not in terms of monetary returns, but in knowing why and who you are working for. It's different from the conventional corporate job per se, because of how the organization is structured. You get to meet colleagues from all across the globe and the experiences that they bring to the table each time there is a meeting brings a breath of fresh air.
The challengesBecause of the size of the organization, there will be conflicts of interest and views both in culture and in belief as well. Finding what works best for everyone is probably a challenge. But that makes it interesting: to find the balance between each other and working together.
