A Construction Project Manager works closely with Architects and Engineers throughout a project to plan, determine costs, and establish work timelines. They typically work odd hours to supervise activities at a job site and attend to other matters such as preparing cost estimates and meeting with suppliers or stakeholders.

- Overseeing construction projects from conceptualization to completion.
- Preparing cost estimates.
- Setting timelines.
- Reviewing progress on deliverables.
- Liaising with architects, engineers, and other vendors.
- Preparing reports for stakeholders.
- Delegating tasks to workers and evaluating their performance.
How to become a Construction Project Manager
To become a Construction Project Manager, you usually need a bachelor degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management, or a similar field.
Graduate with a bachelor degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management, or an equivalent course. A postgraduate diploma may be an advantage.
Attain three to eight years of experience in construction project management.
Become proficient in CONQUAS (Construction Quality Assessment System), QLASSIC (Quality Assessment System in Construction), and GBI (Green Building Index) systems.
After gaining experience as a Construction Project Manager, consider progressing to a role such as Field Engineer, Sustainability Consultant, Site Engineer, General Contractor, or Director of Project Management.
