ARCADIS and TOWELL will support VALE with the program for the implementation of the US$ 1.4 billion industrial complex located at Teluk Rubiah, in the city of Lumut, in western Malaysia. This is the first phase of the VALE Malaysia Manufacturing Project which comprises the development of a regional iron ore distribution center integrated into a deep water port terminal combined with a 2 km long access trestle. The facility is scheduled to become operational in three years. At the peak of the construction phase, ARCADIS and TOWELL will have a team of around 140 people at the Teluk Rubiah project site. The team will be built with the support of ARCADIS’ Brazilian subsidiary ARCADIS Logos. The contract has a duration of 24 months and is comparable to the contract with VALE that has contributed to the successful implementation of the recently opened Oman Industrial Complex Project, which was also completed with the support of a team of ARCADIS professionals.
