What’s it like working at Asia Pacific University College of Technology & Innovation?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees consistently praise the well-structured and supportive onboarding process at APU, with helpful HR teams and assigned mentors guiding new staff. The supportive and friendly colleagues create a positive, collaborative work environment, whilst the diverse and multicultural atmosphere with staff and students from many countries is highly valued. Staff appreciate APU's strong emphasis on technology, innovation, and AI integration, along with opportunities for professional development through research support, training workshops, and industry engagement. Additionally, salaries and increments are competitive and fair, with transparent appraisals.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. The multiple intake system throughout the year can lead to overlapping cohorts and increased teaching hours, which some lecturers find demanding. Staff have noted that timetable schedules could be released further in advance to assist with planning. The workload can be substantial, particularly during busy periods or when teams are understaffed, and maintaining work-life balance may require effort. Additionally, applying for leave often requires arranging class replacements, and flexible or hybrid working arrangements are currently limited. Some employees have also mentioned that campus facilities are still under development in certain areas.

Overall, campus vibe is fast paced, challenging (in a good way) and yet supportive.
The good thingsThe environment here keeps you engaged and challenges your limits (which I love). I also noticed that there's plenty of learning opportunities. They are also focused on research and encourage staffs for publication by providing training and workshops in this area. The induction and onboarding were done in a professional and a supportive manner. My team (School of Marketing and Management) were great, they assigned a mentor who will guide the newbies to settle in. I will say that my experience here have been good.
The challengesThe continuous intake can be challenging. But in time, I got used to it.

A positive and well-organized workplace with supportive staff and smooth workflows.
The good thingsThe organization demonstrates a well-structured system with efficient workflows. Staff members are supportive, approachable, and contribute to a positive working environment.
The challengesImproving advance planning of class schedules, such as releasing them on a monthly basis, would help lecturers better structure their teaching plans and enhance overall productivity.

So far, APU feels like a warm and supportive place to work!
The good thingsI recently joined Asia Pacific University and I'm happy to share that my onboarding experience has been fantastic. From day one, everything I needed to know was communicated clearly and in a timely manner, there were no surprises or confusing gaps in information. The HR team has been especially supportive and approachable. They made the whole process feel welcoming rather than overwhelming, and I never felt like I had to figure things out on my own. It's only been a month, but so far APU feels like a place that genuinely takes care of its people. Looking forward to growing with the team!
The challengesGreat place to work overall, though the timetable could be released further in advance, but understandable given how things work!
