Employees at Austin Heights Sdn Bhd value the opportunity to learn a wide variety of skills in a short time, which can benefit their future careers. The workplace offers exposure to a diverse student body, including Chinese-speaking and international students. Staff appreciate their great colleagues and the healthy working environment. The company is recognised as highly stable with good management at board level.

However, there are some potential challenges, including salary levels that may not fully reflect the specialised nature of the work, particularly when teaching students with special educational needs. Resources for lesson preparation can be limited, requiring teachers to source materials themselves. Class sizes can be large, with more than 30 students, including many with special needs such as ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia. Some staff have noted that work assignments may not always align with experience or qualifications, and front-line staff face the challenge of dealing with diverse stakeholders from various backgrounds.

Demand a higher pay and ask the employer about the teaching load and class size before signing.
The good thingsMany Chinese speaking students and well-diversified international students with different countries.
The challengesThis school recruits many students with special needs, such as ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia etc. The pay rate the employer offered is not for teachers with such specialty in teaching those special needs students. The class size is very big, can have students number more than 30 in the class. The management is not willing to give sufficient resources for Mandarin lessons preparation, so teachers have to seek out from their own or pay for the materials needed.
