    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Bodhi Meditation appreciate the insightful teachings, compassionate mission, and inclusive work culture where everyone feels welcome. They value the opportunities to learn, particularly for interns to apply their knowledge, and the warm and supportive working environment.

However, there are potential challenges, such as concerns about management practices like lack of transparency, favoritism in promotions, and authoritarian leadership styles. Some employees feel there are limited opportunities for career progression and salary increases within the company. Additionally, employees need to be prepared to adapt to frequent changes in plans and direction within the organization.

Be cautious of the image portrayed by the company, as it may not align with its actual practices
The good thingslocated near to my place (old HQ in Klang) but apparently relocated soon after
The challengesThere are a lot of red flags in this company. Recently there was just a mass retrenchment and the upper management is not being transparent about the truth. We were told the HQ closed because of financial difficulties but this is very contradicting. Despite claiming financial struggles, upper management have been aggressively recruiting fresh grad Management Trainees at salaries much higher than full time employees. We are given only 4 weeks notice and Chinese new year is around the corner. How is 4 weeks enought? This took place right after Christmas holiday and with CNY coming soon. All of us were left jobless with barely any time to prepare... This is just my opinion, but there are many concerning practices that seem to contradict the 'charity' and 'compassionate' image presented by this organization and its management board. If you’re considering working here, I would strongly advise caution.

    Toxic, biased, unfair work culture
The good thingsInsightful teachings about meditation
The challengesPromotions and recognition are given based on favoritism rather than actual work performance. You are more likely to be promoted if the founder, ceo or coo likes you. Full of empty promises. Management constantly takes advantage of employees' efforts. We're expected to work on weekends and public holidays, and even on our days off we're required to respond immediately to our bosses and often have to report back to the office. I've witnessed countless colleagues suffer severe burnout, depression and even hospitalization due to the relentless demands. Obvious authoritative and unfair treatment. The upper management would often flood newcomers, younger staff, and the public with appreciation and extravagant giveaways. But long-term employees, even after years of service, see no salary increases.
