What’s it like working at CTOS?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees appreciate the positive and supportive working environment at CTOS, with friendly and helpful colleagues who create a professional atmosphere. The company offers flexible working arrangements, including work-from-home options and the ability to manage your own time when targets are met. Salary is paid on time with competitive benefits such as generous annual leave and high commission payouts for strong performers. The role provides excellent exposure to different industries and business owners, helping employees develop valuable communication and client engagement skills. Team leaders and managers are generally supportive and provide training and guidance, particularly to new joiners.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. The role is highly sales-driven, requiring cold calling, appointment setting, and consistent performance, which may not suit everyone's working style. Employees need to meet monthly targets to maintain income, as the basic salary is relatively low and commission structures require continuous new account acquisition. Some employees have experienced technical and system issues that can affect operations, along with delays in obtaining new equipment. Management focus tends to prioritise sales figures, and there can be challenges with interdepartmental communication and recognition of employee efforts. Additionally, finding and converting clients can be difficult, requiring resilience and the ability to handle rejection professionally.

Supportive workplace, but a challenging role for those not comfortable with B2B sales.
The good thingsPositive and cheerful working environment. Salary is paid on time, and the team and leader are generally supportive and patient, especially toward new joiners. The role provides good exposure to business owners, company decision-makers, and different industries, which can help improve communication and client engagement skills.
The challengesThe role is highly sales-driven and may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who are not comfortable with cold calling, appointment setting, walk-ins, and approaching business owners or company persons-in-charge directly. This is not an easy role and may be different from what some candidates imagine before joining. Follow-up can be one of the most challenging parts. Even when clients seem interested during the demo, they may still decide not to proceed in the end. Therefore, this role requires strong self-motivation, confidence, resilience, consistency, and the ability to handle rejection professionally. It may not be suitable for someone who is easily affected by rejection or prefers a more stable, structured, and support-based role.

Great Learning Ground, But Leadership Missteps Hurt Long-Term Potential
The good thingsCTOS rewards high performers and those who put in the hard work. I personally benefited a lot, especially during the IPO phase, which was a career highlight. The company has a solid business model and a strong economic moat.
The challengesCTOS once had strong fundamentals, but the strategic decision to bring in many top executives from overseas—who looked impressive on paper but lacked operational depth—marked a turning point. Many of them are good talkers, but not hands-on.
