Most traumatic years of my career
The good thingsGreat IT support and Pantry has good for those long cold nights.
The challengesWork Life Balance is conceptually alien to the bosses and refusal or hesistant to sacrifice any amount of time outside the office or outside working hours and/or weekends and/or holiday is seen as irresponsible, disrespectful and not a team player the challenge to dump your moral compass to be in boss's good books.

I wish to leave after 1 month
The good thingsThey pay quite well considering current market is affected badly due to the pandemic.
The challengesUnnecessary weekly report which is taking too much time and energy, when other places make do just on monthly basis. Bosses who disrespect subordinates and treat them like small kids. Too much unnecessary ad-hoc requests and tasks without much value externally except to satisfy internal management, often require staff to work on weekends and night times.

    Harsh working environment
The good thingsIt represents government, you get to expand your network.
The challengesThe management allow the senior to ride on your effort and took it as their credit. No career progression.

    Short term view
The good thingsWhile a government agency, they try as much as possible to match private sector pay levels. The fact that you are contributing towards nation building can give employees a sense of purpose, satisfaction and pride. KLCC location - Suria KLCC/Avenue-K shopping malls for lunch breaks & the lrt station.
The challengesThe organisation was set up to achieve objectives & targets by 2020 which is only a few years away thus leading to a short term mindset by management. All new recruits are on short 2-year contracts with no promise of a permanent position. Management seems to be interest in extracting the most value from staff in the form of regular long hours with little effort in retaining & developing talents due to the organisation's uncertain future.

    Managers and Executives
The good thingsAlways protect the employee interest. The CEO is fair to everyone and reasonable person in dealing with all scenarios. Good remuneration package and benefits as compared to MNC, GLC and other statutory bodies.
The challengesMicro management. Disorganized working environment. Lack of proper and formalized business processes (SOP). Too multi-tasking and ad-hoc tasks. Some cases, mismatch between job and competencies. Management of HR and OD must improve/transform. HR Management approach taken currently more towards talent as liabilities instead of assets.

Best employee benefi but i did not enjoy working here
The good thingsGood working office and very presentable to prospect investors. They are giving good employee benefit with AIG medical card and a lot of allowances. Work activities involve a lot of travelling that can add executive like me pocket money for travelling claim
The challengesProjects involved state land and need to liaise with a lot of government agencies and state authorities. Since east cost region ruled by the opponent to government, the implementation for projects quite slow and involve a lot of political issues.
