What’s it like working at Fujikura?

    AI summary of recent reviews

On the positive side, employees at Fujikura appreciate the company's focus on technical skills and the time provided to work on production. Additionally, working at Fujikura offers exposure to Japanese culture through interactions with Japanese colleagues.

However, there are some potential areas for improvement. Some employees feel there are limited career advancement opportunities at this traditional Japanese firm. There is also a perception that the work environment could be enhanced. The onboarding and training process is an area that could be strengthened through better induction and more hands-on training. Finally, Fujikura's management style is viewed by some as autocratic, with decisions made by the managing director based more on emotion than employee feedback.

The good thingsThe opportunity to work with some of the Japanese counterparts is a good exposure. Overall, my time here is rather short and this is the only good side of the whole experience @ Fujikura Malaysia.
The challenges1) Induction could have been a lot better 2) Job scope was almost non-existent, on the job training was entirely based on reading emails, and my understanding on a particular 'technical' issue was also entirely based on reading past emails between a large group of personnel 3) Culture is one of the most autocratic that I've experienced where the MD ruled by emotion and disliked mature feedbacks
