What’s it like working at Johor Port Berhad?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Johor Port Berhad offers several attractive features for employees, including comprehensive benefits packages with particularly good medical coverage and bonus structures. The company provides a positive work environment with supportive colleagues, and as a large organisation, offers valuable learning opportunities across various aspects of port operations.

Areas for improvement include the base salary structure which appears to be below market expectations for many roles. The size of the facility can present challenges with interdepartmental cooperation, and some employees suggest that management approaches could benefit from modernisation to better align with current business practices.

Low salary and unhealthy internal culture in a problematic department
The good thingsThe benefits are excellent, particularly the medical benefits
The challengesThe internal politics are unhealthy, the salary is very low, and there is no allowance provided in the FMD department. It is a highly problematic department. Careful consideration is advised before accepting an offer in this department.

Offers good exposure, which might appeal to those looking for long-term stability, perhaps individuals who are already married and want to stay put until retirement. However, it's not ideal for young, motivated, energetic people. The salary is merely acceptable for the market, not that satisfying.
The good thingsGood exposure as this is a big company.
The challengesThere's a real lack of guidance. You're just expected to know everything when you do your job. The office politics are that bad and awful and even when you try to ignore them, they still manage to affect you.

The challengesSalary too far out from market value. Benefits need to be improve.
