What’s it like working at Mondelez International?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Mondelez International appreciate the friendly, helpful and supportive colleagues who create a collaborative environment with minimal politics and strong camaraderie across departments and global teams. The company offers competitive benefits and salary packages at par with other multinational companies, along with flexible working arrangements. Employees value the opportunities to learn and develop through exposure to global operations and cross-functional collaboration, as well as clearly charted career progression with defined timelines supported by inspiring leaders.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. Work-life balance can be demanding, with expectations to work beyond regular hours in a fast-paced environment that requires quick learning and high performance. Frequent changes in roles, systems and organisational structure occur every 6-8 months, which may require adaptation. Lean teams and cost-cutting measures mean employees may need to manage multiple responsibilities, and there are multiple systems and approval processes to navigate that can be time-consuming.

Escalation is the way to make things happen, satisfaction depends on direct line lead
The good thingsExperiencing a global matrix structure. Each project or change request will involve global stakeholders
The challengesWork satisfaction will depends on your line lead. Most likely your line lead will be expats. Role changes and turnover are frequent, do not expect stability or knowledge retention among colleagues. Line leads tend to be in the company for a long time with a diverse experience across functions. Expectation is to follow their way of working although they may not know local regulations or suitable workflows. Company culture emphasizes on how you "present" your work rather than making sure things are functioning smoothly as intended.

Turnover is quite frequent; however, those can stand/overcome the work pressure in the company, can work for long time, as it takes very long time to grow career in this company. One person will need to multi tasks with overbearing workload.
The good thingsThe flexible working time, additional benefits that can claim such as gym and sports equipment. Have international colleagues to benchmark and knowledge sharing. Career growth requires dedication and patience (service over 6-7 years only able to climb up one spot).
The challengesCompany is MNC, but global management direction not willing to upgrade and improve current plant situation. Very reactive management. Annual bonus and increment not as expected from MNC organization. Those from global or corporate level only assist when there's benefits for themselves.

Suitable for workaholics. If the work life balance can be improve, it is a pretty good company to work in.
The good thingsThe company culture is full of eager-to-learn and improve people. Cross-functional collaboration and working relationships are harmonious and professional. Very good company perks and employee engagements.
The challengesTerrible work life balance, very unsustainable. Every night 12pm - 1am you can still see your whole team online and working in certain portals or shared drives. Too many system/portal/report to feed data. Too many short-term performance metrics to report weekly. Too many ongoing vendor explorations. Every time a department is exploring a potential vendor, sales will be asked to provide tons of very detailed past year data just to explore the potential vendor's capability.
