Overall, PNE is fun. That's about it. The people are fun. Work is kinda fun. Meetings were fun. But fun does not contribute to your career and financial development. You'd probably pick up a thing or two here. Then once you've figured out what the working world is like, pack up your things and move on.
The good thingsOverall workmates and environment is good. Almost everyone regardless of rank is approachable. Besides that: > Unlimited OT. > Wi-Fi available for indirect staff. > Big surau. > Flexible in the sense that you're not tied to your table. > Roofed motorcycle parking. > Easy to apply for leave. > Nobody cares if you're late, they'd just dock your pay. > Good experience if you're a freshy, the recruitment process was quick and easy.
The challengesFast pace environment not because of the number of projects, but the incompetency and poor delegation of people with authority. Besides that: > Senior will almost always micromanage. > Managers tend to not be open to ideas. > Almost no structured training, everything is more or less cowboy. > Salary is below market expectations. > QA team is dysfunctional while I was there, which is why engineers from other departments have to do the buyoff (as ad-hoc work). > Many teams lack proper formal training, making it seem like they are incompetent. > Bickering amongst different departments as there are no cross department training. So, people don't understand one another's job scope and responsibilities. > HR..just because.
