I take pride in solving technical challenges, improving maintenance systems, and ensuring facilities operate smoothly to support guest satisfaction. Leading and developing a maintenance team, coordinating with different departments, and managing contractors have been especially rewarding. I also enjoy the hands-on nature of the role, balancing planning with practical problem-solving, and contributing directly to a safe, reliable, and high-quality resort experience.
The challengesWorking in an island resort and marina environment presents unique challenges that offer opportunities for improvement. Areas that could be enhanced include strengthening preventive maintenance systems to further reduce breakdowns, improving spare parts planning to minimize delays caused by logistics and weather constraints, and upgrading aging infrastructure to improve efficiency and reliability. Additional focus on technical training and skill development for the maintenance team would further enhance performance. Streamlining communication and coordination between departments can also improve response time and overall operational efficiency.
